Title: Climate Change Adviser
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Description: AWF seeks a Climate Change Adviser to advise on all aspects of climate change work, focusing initially on assessing the likely impacts of climate change on AWF’s African Heartlands. AWF is working with EcoAdapt (experts in climate change adaptation) and the International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP) to pilot this work in the Virunga Heartland. This is a one-year full-time position, based at AWF’s Headquarters in Nairobi, with potential for extension. The Climate Change Adviser will work closely with the AWF and IGCP teams and the EcoAdapt climate specialists.

Scholarships

Charlotte Conservation Fellows
Since 1996, the African Wildlife Foundation has provided educational grants to African pursuing advanced degree studies in conservation-related fields through its Charlotte Conservation Fellowship Program. The application process for the Charlotte Fellowship 2007-2008 class is now closed. AWF is not currently accepting applications.

Internship Program

AWF periodically has openings for interns in our Washington, DC office to assist in our Communications, Development, Program, Membership, Finance, Human Resources and Administration departments. AWF provides a platform for interns to expand their knowledge of African conservation issues, apply academic knowledge in real life situations, and learn new skills that will enhance their careers.

Interns have the flexibility to work up to a maximum of 40 hours depending on the organization’s needs and the students’ schedule.

Currently internships are open to students based in the USA.
